About The First Tee of Battle Creek The First Tee of Battle Creek was established as a Chapter in 2001. The City of Battle Creek renovated the Binder Park Golf Club from 18 holes to 27 holes, 3 practice holes, a new practice green with sand bunkers, a new practice range, and a new club house. Paralleling that renovation was the birth of The First Tee of Battle Creek. We have a “The First Tee kid’s clubhouse” where we gather and teach our kids rain or shine. Coupling The First Tee of Battle Creek clubhouse with the fantastic practice and playing facility here at Binder Park Golf Club we have a perfect place for kids to learn golf, life skills and core values.
We serve kids and families of greater Battle Creek and all surrounding areas. All participants receive discounts on golf, retail and range usage from our partnering club Binder Park Golf Club. Our goal is that no child is denied access to The First Tee program in Battle Creek. That goal is realized through the very generous donors we seek year round to support our scholarship program. Objectives:
To help youth develop into being their best by teaching life skills and core values through the game of golf
To offer golf to kids that would not normally be exposed to it
To continue to develop new partnerships within the community
To continue to develop more year round programming to help our youth become better golfers and achieve academically to a higher level
To build onto our current mentoring program
To offer free academic tutoring and reading circles to children
